Publications The Society maintains an active publications programme for the furtherance of research. Its publications include monographs in the Studies in History Series, the papers read before meetings of the Society in its Transactions, and a long-standing record series in the volumes of the Camden Series.
Transactions of the Royal Historical Society The Transactions of the Royal Historical Society, published continually since 1872, comprises the papers read before the Society. Papers range from the annual Presidential address and the Prothero Lecture given by scholars at the height of the profession to papers given by younger scholars through the competitions sponsored by the Society. The Society encourages papers of a more reflective and wide-ranging nature than the standard journal fare. Papers are given by invitation only. A set of Instructions for Contributors is available. Availability of electronic text Articles dating from earlier than the last five year are available to subscribing institutions through JSTOR which offers a full search facility. More recent volumes can be accessed through the Cambridge University Press website. Other indexing Articles in the Transactions relating to British and Irish history are included in the Society's Bibliography of British and Irish History .
